The Benefits Of Cold Shower After Exercise

In the study,
participants were asked to take a bath or soaking in a tub of cold water after
they asked to do sports. The average participant spent five to 24 minutes in
the water to experience 50-54 degrees fahrenheit. However, in some cases,
participants are required to sign in and out of the water at the specified
time.
"We found
some evidence that taking a shower with cold water after exercise can reduce
muscle soreness, but only compared to rest the muscles only or not doing
anything," said the head of research, Dr Chris Bleakley from the
University of Ulster, offered through the BBC, Thursday (16/2).
However,
researchers still have not found any adverse effects if someone cold shower
continuously in a long period of time.
"It's
important to consider that soaking in cold water can shock body temperature. We
need to make sure people don't do a dangerous thing, especially if they are
exposed to water which is very cool for a long time, "he added.
