The Benefits Of Cold Shower After Exercise
Many people
choose a gym to workout because it is considered to have complete facilities,
including a special place for the sauna and hot shower. Unfortunately, hot
shower after exercising is not a good choice.Recent studies
have shown that taking a shower with cold water is considered can reduce muscle
pain after exercise. These findings were denied some of the opinions of
scientists who say cold shower quite stressful muscles of the body and is
considered dangerous.To prove it,
researchers reviewed clinical trials in 17 bath with cold water that involves
366 people. In the study, researchers observe whether a bath with cold water
can rest the muscle or just the opposite...
In the study,
participants were asked to take a bath or soaking in a tub of cold water after
they asked to do sports. The average participant spent five to 24 minutes in
the water to experience 50-54 degrees fahrenheit. However, in some cases,
participants are required to sign in and out of the water at the specified
time.
"We found
some evidence that taking a shower with cold water after exercise can reduce
muscle soreness, but only compared to rest the muscles only or not doing
anything," said the head of research, Dr Chris Bleakley from the
University of Ulster, offered through the BBC, Thursday (16/2).
However,
researchers still have not found any adverse effects if someone cold shower
continuously in a long period of time.
"It's
important to consider that soaking in cold water can shock body temperature. We
need to make sure people don't do a dangerous thing, especially if they are
exposed to water which is very cool for a long time, "he added.
