Blake Griffin Dunk
part of "Lob City" for the surging Los Angeles Clippers, is making a bonehead move by not participating in the Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star Weekend. He
was voted as a starter in the All-Star game, but choosing not to defend
his Slam Dunk title is ludicrous. Griffin is known for his high-flying
dunks, and without him in the event, it's going to suffer greatly. Griffin told Arash Markazi of ESPS LOS Angeles that he's not feeling it this year:
As of right now I don't plan on being in it, Griffin said Thursday night. Those dunk contests aren't my thing, I said that last year. There's a lot of guys that can put on a great show and do some good stuff.
Last year was hectic and it kind of made it unenjoyable, Griffin said. So this year, we'll see what will happen, but I will try to tone it down a bit and get a break instead of being so busy.
It's understandable he wants to relax during the break weekend, but every NBA fan wants to see him throw it down.
Last
year he was incredible, and now fans won't get to see his amazing
skills. Sure, there will be other talented athletes in the contest, but
nobody else in the NBA is as exciting as Griffin is today.
